President Yachts may be better unknown than known in smaller yacht circles - up to 60 feet. But since inception in 1968, President has launched 1100 yachts!  And included were Offshore 54s and the first Marlow 53 - yachts known for fine finish and refinement.  And the current production range is from 62’ to 150’ - they build innovative designs using current methods and high quality materials using skilled designers, naval architects and craftsmen and they do so in a rare, water front yard in Taiwan!  A simple search of boats for sale over 62’ will reveal how significant a yacht builder President has become and the international acceptance of this builder in big yacht circles.  The search and stepping aboard THIS President Legend will build our sense of the marquee.

This President speaks volumes about the builder’s scope.  The layout is innovative, providing a sense of volume and space found on yachts of greater length.  The headroom, openness of the companionways, the volume in the hull forward each contribute incrementally to this big yacht feel.  An immediate sense of space and comfort derives from the quality of materials, exquisite workmanship and refined finish of the honey teak throughout, and from the detailed joinery, granite surfaces, generous seating, Ethan Allan fabrics, even from the remarkable fireplace - diesel fired, visible flame, radiant warmth, imported from France!  Cat power, full stand up engine room, expansive lazarette add to the pleasure of this yacht, as do covered side decks, a covered cockpit (with the custom seating extension), Portuguese bridge, and a spacious, fully enclosed flybridge.

We revel in a yacht that seems purpose built and outfitted for our waters – we look for good heat sources for extended season cruising, for big, clear windows to take in light and offer up views of the seascape around us, for inside helms with outstanding visibility and places to share voyages on long legs north, and for covered side decks and cockpit, to give outside space, even in a drizzle.  We want to access the water by tender or kayak, have room for prawn traps and fishing gear, and feel comfortable at a yacht club, or in a remote anchorage – safe, secure, comfortable.  Such is this President Legend 630!

Enter the warm, spacious, welcoming salon from the covered cockpit through a double sliding door.  Doors left open, the cockpit, with custom build extension - including a hand made table and surround seating - forms part of the living space of the salon.  The salon is richly furnished, with designer window treatments, two comfortable easy chairs, and a settee running the length of the port side.  The large teak table serves as both a coffee table with fold over leaves, but lifts, slides towards the settee, and two leaves open out to create a formal dining table seating eight! On the port side, there is cabinetry aft housing the audio system, and forward on both sides of the steps to the pilothouse, further lockers including a bookshelf.  Between the two easy chairs is a Godin fireplace - a special import from France - that warms the salon and pilothouse, and with visible flame, casts a sense of comfort and peace that only a fireplace can provide.  Ethan Allan fabrics, rich carpeting, and a highlight wall with the owner's artwork, complete the Room.
