Schock 35

1988 Schock 35 Shaka

WINNER: Lipton Cup, Yachting Cup, Cortez Racing Association Beer Can Series three-time season champion and more than 50 trophies in the last seven years.  That about sums it up!  If you are a sailor with a lust for winning and for having the trophies that go along with that, then Shaka is the boat for you.  All this at a very affordable price.  Enough said.

Twelve feet of beam and over six feet of headroom have given Schock a lot to work with. The galley of the Schock 35 is to port and is equipped with an icebox with a minimum of 2-1/2” of insulation, a deep stainless sink and an optional low-burner stove and oven. An enclosed storage locker is outboard for easy access to galley provisions. The countertops are attractive plastic laminate that provides a durable work surface. Directly opposite the galley is a generous chart table with a hinged lid, a shelf and storage compartments. The table faces forward with the navigator comfortably seated on a built-in bench seat. Raised winch platforms provide plenty of headroom.

There are four large settee berths in the main cabin and two quarter berths aft. Cut-outs in the berth structure provide easy access to storage compartments and to the fuel and water tanks. Since the uses of a boat of this style are so varied, Schock offers the buyer the opportunity to "design" the forepeak. The economically-minded racer might choose to leave it empty, keeping this forward section light and free for sail storage. The cruising sailor might add a beautifully-equipped enclosed head, hanging locker, and a V-berth to create an excellent forward stateroom.
