If you are looking at buying a recently made boat you are undoubtedly looking for something that is as much turn-key as possible. Boats vary of course, however "Sitzmark" is an example of turn-key because of the diligence of her owners to keep her so.

"Sitzmark" is one of the few very recent Catalina 36 MK II's in the New England area. The boat was purchased new by the seller's and used primarily in Penobscot Bay, Maine. The 36 is an ideal boat for such a mission. "Sitzmark", in particular, is especially well suited for the weather we have here on the coast of Maine too. Take notice of the complete canvas cockpit enclosure. If you have not experienced a similar set-up you won't be disappointed and perhaps never quite want to cruise without such an arrangement again. Picture this, you're in a remote anchorage and as the sun sets orange you set up the canvas. Yes, you'll notice the last of the days light coming on board but what you also notice is that the mosquitoes are *not* coming aboard. You've created an oasis in the cockpit. You created an entire spare room. In the morning the cockpit is dry. You can leave the cockpit cushions out for a change. The covered cockpit is a comfortable place to bring your cup of tea or mug of coffee before the crew awakens. After breakfast you quickly disassemble the enclosure and off you go.

Start the 4 cylinder diesel and haul the anchor with the windlass. One person can unfurl the main and handle the genoa. From the wheel its easy to see over the coach roof or forward along the decks.All lines are lead aft. The helms person can steer while standing, sitting in the cockpit from three positions or even further up on the aft decks. Behind the helm are perch seats for a companion or for the skipper to monitor everything while under autopilot.

"Sitzmark" has all the right features or extended cruising. Radar, Color GPS plotter, depth, knot, wind, autopilot, VHF, and a stereo. Water capacity and fuel capacity are proper fro a boat this size. Storage is abundant and the berth sizes will accommodate taller people if needed. The settees are fore and aft in orientation making them useful for offshore work.
