The Tartan 33 is a well-built straightforward cruiser/racer, with good storage and simple accessible systems. Comfortable enough for four on weekends, the boat will also deliver safe and secure long-distance capability for coastal cruising couples. She can be singled-handed with comparative ease. The Universal 5424 (24 hp) diesel pushes her nicely through the water at 5.5-6.5 kts, cruise-loaded, usually burning half-a-gallon per hour. Blue Sky has had many updates and a major re fit.
New in 2005, Mast replaced, Boom replaced, All Standing and Running Rigging replaced, New Main Sail, New Furlex roller furling, new Dodger and extension, New Biminis, New Cockpit and Interior Cushions, New Awlgrip Topsides and Deck, New Rudder, New Sail Cover. In 2008 the bottom was coated with 2 epoxy barrier coats, new bottom paint in 2011. Original Refrigerator removed, Ice Box re built to Tartan Specs, Huge amount of storage compared to stock refrigerator, 5" of insulation. Owner is willing to deliver boat within a limited range, also if long range ground transportation is required, owner is willing to drop mast and rigging and secure all ready for transport.
