Mg C27 - Cruiser/Racer Great Condition

Unique opportunity to purchase one of these sought after Cruiser/Racers. Built by MG Yachts of Greenock to a Rob Humphries design with many owner improvements made over the last 4 years. New mast, boom, spinnaker pole, standing rigging and Dyneema running rigging. Racing sails include brand new tri-radial main and No3 jib whilst the Pentex laminate No1 is as new. Full set of cruising sails to suit all conditions.

 When Jeremy Rodgers stopped building the Contessa 27, MG yachts took over the rights to this popular design. Rob Humphries,  the successful and renowned yacht designer, had produced the design, and although Rogers had only built around 12 Contessa 27's, MG felt there would be a market and thus the MGC27 was launched. Although companies such as Jaguar Yachts and Northshore, who ended up buying MG Yachts at a later date, built the MGC27 under licence, this is an MG built MGC27. 

 GRP constructed yacht with fin keel , transom hung rudder with tiller steering. The keel is made of lead which is 100kgs heavier than the standard iron keeled versions. This gives a lower centre of gravity making her very reassuring as a cruising boat and the equivalent of 2 extra crew on the side deck when racing. Large self bailing cockpit with angled back rests for comfort. Large sail locker to starboard. The boat feels secure and that is thanks to the robust stainless steel pushpit and pulpit rails. These are joined by a double set of stainless steel wire and stanchions. The side decks are wide enough to negotiate without much trouble and there are handily placed wooden grab rails on the top of the raised coachroof. Self bailing anchor locker with lid at bow.
