Kathleen, a highly sought after 38MKII Hans Christian is a classic blue water cruising, cutter rigged, full keel boat with a reputation as a very solidly constructed boat with a sea kindly design. It says "Let's explore!". The 38 MKII, not to be confused with the HC 38 Traditional (T), is a traditionally styled yacht that sails with remarkable performance. The MKII carries more sail on a taller rig all moved forward 18”, a wider beam, a better sail area to displacement ratio and increased volume of tankage than the traditional. One of the nicest features of this yacht is the light pressure on helm while sailing due to the semi-balanced rudder. This helps eliminate wear and stress on the Autohelm (or helms person) and contributes to the pleasure of passage making.

Hans Christian yachts are all hand built. The interior is made by highly skilled craftsmen using only the finest materials and they are truly a work of art. All interior joinery work is select grade solid Burmese teak. Due to the traditional nature of a Hans Christian yacht, a large amount of custom bronze fittings are used, all manufactured locally and finished in house. Bulkheads and interior hull walls of all cabinets and lockers are planked in solid teak. The countertop in the head is marble. Every interior and exterior detail has been well thought out to give her owners the best in a completely seaworthy and beautiful vessel.

SALON - Robust companionway steps with custom fabric treads and sturdy handholds welcomes you to the comfortable salon. The galley is located immediately to port and fitted with a marble counter top, well insulated refrigeration space, gimballed stove and multiple storage drawers and cupboards. An island cabinet with marble counter and double stainless steel sink with brass fixtures in located inboard. Forward of the galley there is a spacious L-shaped settee with storage space below and outboard with additional storage cabinets and shelf above and outboard. A large pedestal table is mounted on the centerline. The well-insulated freezer space is built into the table pedestal that has top access and a thermometer mounted on the side. The starboard side is furnished with a straight settee with storage below and outboard. The end of the settee doubles as a seat for the navigation station that is located aft and features instrument panels, hinged chart table and additional storage space.

OWNER'S CABIN - Located forward of the main bulkhead and furnished with a spacious pullman berth to port and storage drawers and space below. A large hanging locker with adjacent drawers and top shelf is fitted to starboard.

HEAD & SHOWER - Located forward of the owner's cabin there is a vanity with marble counter top, sink and mirrored cabinet to starboard. A partially tiled shower compartment and teak cabinet that houses the head is located in the forepeak. The shower features a teak seat to port, storage cabinet to starboard and teak floor grate with sump pump. There is a storage compartment outboard of the head to port as well as access to the chain locker.

GUEST CABIN - Located aft of the navigation station on the starboard side and furnished with a spacious double berth, outboard storage locker, shelf, dressing seat.
