The Black Watch 30 is a C Raymond Hunt designed Deep-V design that was built in Portsmouth, RI by Ted Hood and one of the few flybridge 30 foot boats built in recent years.  She’s ideal for coastal fishing and the accommodations offer cruising comforts and convenience. The 30 has an excellent reputation as a good rough water boat that can really handle a chop  

The 30 is easily driven by a pair of economical Cummins 250hp diesels allowing a cruise speed of over 20 knots while burning approximately 14-15 gallons per hour.   Both engines are equipped with block heaters.

The very fishable cockpit (70 square feet!) is spacious enough for a large crew and their gear.  Hinged motor boxes provide easy access for routine maintenance and are removable for full access.  A single door leads to the cabin which is finished in teak with teak and holly flooring.  Features include a stand-up head, spacious galley, convertible dinette and forward V-berth.  There’s plenty of storage and the interior is nicely finished in teak.  The cabin is bright and cheerful thanks to the wrap-around windows.  Climb the ladder to the bridge and you’ll find two helm chairs facing the helm station with great visibility both forward and into the cockpit.  The well laid out helm is complete with all engine controls and gauges, the electronics (Furuno radar, Depthsounder, Furuno GPS, Uniden VHF) are mounted in an overhead lockable box.  Just forward of the helm console is a nicely upholstered bench seat for your guests.  A full enclosure including a welded aluminum framed top/radar arch provides protection from the elements.
