REDUCED: 3/23/2015. The Tayana 37 was designed by Bob Perry and introduced in 1975. They are known for solid construction and well known as blue water cruisers. Tortuga, a well maintained vessel, was sailed summers by her second owner in the fresh waters of Lake Superior between 2002 and 2009 while she received numerous updates/upgrades, including replacement of all the standing and running rigging, new sails, new roller furling, new batteries, fresh water systems, electronics and even a twin blade bow thruster for easy maneuvering in crowded marinas. Recent work performed on this beautiful vessel includes a complete strip of all topside teak to bare wood and application of sealing epoxy and 6 coats of varnish. The interior has a large forward cabin with comfortable berth, ample storage and good ventilation. The head is next aft to port and opposite the head is more storage. The salon features port and starboard settees with a good sized table. There are custom storage compartments beneath the settees and outboard of the starboard settee. The navigation station is aft on the starboard side has a good sized chart table. There is a quarterberth /storage area behind the navigation station. The U-shaped galley is opposite the chart table on the port side.
