Beneteau Farr 50

The Farr 50 has become a benchmark for vessels of this size and capability. In her second ownership, Vagabond has been nicely looked after and had received some great upgrades over the last few years. The more significant of these includes gen and air, RIB dinghy with davits, a power winch and a brand new Doyle mainsail. She has also had some nice improvements in the comfort department, including twin ice makers, custom installed, in the galley as well the owner opening up the two forward cabins to now provide one large master cabin with ensuite heads.

Cosmetically she shows in good shape and has had some nice improvements, such as replacement of the swim platform teak. Consisting her upgrades and good condition, combined with only moderate hours on what is the leader in reliability of for engines of this size, the Perkins M92, I feel she is very attractively priced and will be sure to be enjoyed to the full, as she has been in recent years, by her next owner.

(3/4 Cabin / 4 Head)

Starting forward is what originally was a separate crew cabin. This cabin is now used a machinery room for the generator and the water maker, it has a large hatch leading to the ladder for access to this area. This cabin is separated from the rest of the interior by a bulkhead.

Aft of the crew cabin there are options for either two, mirror image, forward guest cabins, one to port and one to starboard. In the standard 4 cabin configuration each cabin is equipped with a comfortable double Pullman berth outboard, a private head, with shower and sink forward as well as plenty of storage in the hanging closets and additional lockers. However, the current owner has chosen to remove the bulkhead partition between the two cabins (which can easily be reinstalled within a few minutes when required) to provide one large master cabin that now has one remaining double Pullman berth to port and a large bench settee.

Moving aft and in to the main salon, to starboard is the large linear galley.  Well lit and ventilated from the many overhead hatches, with one directly above the double stainless steel sink.  The galley has abundant storage throughout and plenty of space for food preparation.  Forward of the double sink is the stove and aft are the top-opening refrigerator and freezer as well as additional counter space; a design with gives the galley a very open feeling. The owner has upgraded this area by way of installing two icemakers, one at each end of the galley.

Opposite the galley and to port is the large open salon area.  A welcoming D-shaped settee offers plenty of seating and surrounds the large teak salon table.  A centerline island settee, large enough for three people, is located inboard of the salon table.  Outboard storage surrounds the salon, providing ample room for all entertainment needs – perfect for books and movies.  To port and aft of the settee is the aft facing nav station with full sized chart table.

Moving further aft, are dual aft cabins to port and starboard.  Each cabin offers a large queen-sized berth with ensuite head, shower outboard and forward, as well as a great deal of storage space in the hanging and additional lockers.

The whole of the interior is spacious, light and airy, being well ventilated with plenty of hatches and side ports.  Vagabond has been lovingly cared for so that she shows in good condition throughout.
