Britt Brothers Schooner Francis Herreshoff

'Mistral' was built 1938 at the yard of Britt Brothers on the Sogus River in West Lynn, Massachusetts, for Mr. Theodore S. Little. As hull number 73 she was the last of the 63,6“ schooners built in typical Herreshoff tradition as a large, feet-footes and swift vessel for American coastal waters. Francis Herreshoff was a nephew of the “Wizard of Bristol“ Nathaniel Herreshoff. Somemore informations you will find in the book of Herreshoff´s „Sensible Cruising Designs“.
