There are very few yards that enjoy such a global acclaim of building long distance cruisers as Hallberg-Rassy. An easy to handle blue water cruiser with great comfort, the HR 62 is the ultimate world cruiser and was, at the time, the new flagship for HR. She is, without a doubt, one of the most majestic, elegant and powerful voyagers ever built. 25 of these extraordinary yachts were built between 1997 and 2011. Between the Sheets being Hull # 15. She is affectionately known as Sheets.

Characteristic for  Hallberg-Rassy layouts are that they are all logical, well arranged and intended  to work for long periods on board either at sea or in the harbour. The floor in the 62 is the same level throughout the boat. This contributes to easy access to all cabins and no steps or different levels to worry about. The HR 62 has a very light and airy saloon with big opening side windows as well as  opening skylights. Sheets was a trendsetter and the first HR 62 to do a more modern contemporary style interior with a rich, creamy leather upholstery in the main salon, custom seating, white pleated blinds on all the portlights and Ocean air shades for all hatches. With a custom bath tub in the master head, washer/dryer beautifully built in the forward walkway, she truly is a stunning yacht.

As expected on a Hallberg-Rassy, the cockpit is very well protected by a hard dodger, which is generous in size and offers good all-round visibility. It is well suited for the various demands of the most difficult climates from extreme cold to tropical heat. The cockpit offers good shelter from a hardtop with an opening mid section that works perfectly when it is hot as well as a full enclosure for when it is cold . This solution has become synonymous with the modern cruising  yacht.  Sheets is wired to go anywhere in the world your heart desires, with 220V, 110V, 24V and 12V throughout the boat and a 13kW isolation transformer. Just plug and play anywhere!

                                                        The HR62 Awards

This HR 62 (Between the Sheets) was presented as "Import Cruising Boat of the Year 2006" in the January 2006 issue of Cruising World magazine after her nomination at the Annapolis International Boat Show. In 2005 Sheets came in a solid first in the big boat category in the Caribbean 1500. This was followed by a sweep of four first places in her next Caribbean 1500. The HR 62 also won the "Yacht of the Year" award in Germany in the largest class, over 50 ft.

The owners, Tom and Diane Might, wanted a boat that would handle deteriorating conditions with confidence, that would be forgiving of their learning curve and that had all the amenities of a floating home. After looking at many top-end builders such as Hylas, Tayana, Valiant, Oyster and Swan, in the end, they decided on Hallberg-Rassy after comparing specifications from engine size to righting moment. "Hallberg-Rassy was oversized and safe in every category," comments Diane. "There's never any fear this boat can't take you where you need to go. She's got a huge engine, a powerful rig, and redundant systems throughout the ship - even dual autopilots".

Free State Yachts commissioned and delivered  Sheets to Tom and Diane at the HR yard in Sweden in June of 2004 where her journey began. They worked their way down south to eventually join the 2004 ARC in the Canary Islands later that fall. She crossed the Atlantic to spend the winter in throughout the Caribbean and the sailed up to the Chesapeake Bay in the spring of 2005. She has been based in the Chesapeake Bay ever since with annual trips either to the Caribbean or Maine. The last few years she has been stored on the hard when not on passage, all covered up with a custom made heavy duty vinyl cover and only launched for five weeks each summer for her annual trip to Maine.

This is a very unique offering that does not come around often and she is the first for resale in the United States. It is rare enough that an HR62 comes to the market, then to find one in this condition is extraordinary. Sheets is in fantastic condition has been constantly updated and kept up to the highest standard. Her owners have spared no expense to keep her in this exceptional condition since day one. You will be hard pressed to find a more complete and up to date yacht with low hours in turnkey condition. She has everything you can possibly need including a very extensive spare parts inventory for offshore voyages.

We have personally been involved  with Sheets since her delivery in 2004 and know this boat really well  so we can assure that you will not be disappointed.
