Farr 44 - Rare Performance Cruiser
Built in 1989 at Westerly Yachts using cold molded construction by Richard and Sherri Crowe for extended Antarctic Voyages, Confetti is a true offshore short handed sailing yacht capable of She has circumnavigated South America twice, then was bought by her current owners in 2006 refurbished again and circumnavigated the Pacific. She then returned to San Francisco where she has enjoyed ongoing care and upgrades. She was repowered within the past year, and has a newly refurbished Spectra watermaker. Now, owners have young children and note that it is time to hand this world traveler over to new owners. This unique boat, and her sister ship "Tabu" are famous within the performance cruising circuit as the brainchildren of Rich and Shari Crowe -- adventurers in both of these sailboats, as well as the masters of the "Alaska Eagle" bluewater sail trainer operated by Orange Coast College for 32 years. safe extended voyaging in the harshest of climates. She is a performance cruising sloop with a fractional keel-stepped mast, diesel inboard aux engine, fin keel and spade rudder.
As a testament to her sailing ability the original builders built a sister ship (Tabu) utilizing the same construction methods and materials including the reinforced Kevlar bow sections. She is as
comfortable in the Caribbean on a hook as she is in the arctic. She has always
had an extensive an ongoing full maintenance program. She is seeking her
fourth owner.
The main salon is spacious and comfortable. There is a u-shaped settee to starboard and a long settee to port. The u-shaped galley is located to starboard. The owner’s stateroom is located to port and includes a nav station with a swivel chair.
Going forward, the head is to starboard and there is an upper/lower pipe berth
to port. The v-berth is convertible to sail storage.
