Chris-Craft Commander Center Cockpit - 07 Mercruiser Diesel Repower

An all-Fiberglass Chris Craft, from the early days of glass when these were built very stout. Complete mechanical and electrical refit in 2007: NEW Cummins-Mercruiser diesels (only 275 hours!) and NEW genset with 16 hours.  Most unique layout: Seats 6 to 8 in center-cockpit, fully protected by glass and isinglass enclosure based on factory hardtop, accessed by side-doors thru cockpit coaming.   Two cabins: salon/galley/head forward, and private stateroom with en-suite head/shower aft of the cockpit (reminiscent of the classic "woodie" Chris Corvette!).   Continual systems upgrading -- yet keeping the period decor intact. Outstanding maintenance: clean, clean, clean and shiny...  Lives undercover in Port Orchard.  Be sure to review the full specs for all the NEW systems aboard. Owner says bring any reasonable offers!

Recent price reduction!

A most unusual, but NW-practical, layout:  Cockpit is entered from either side-deck thru deep-cut inward-swinging doors in the cockpit coaming.  This "center-cockpit" (between forward salon-cabin and aft master-stateroom cabin) has two fold-down helmseats PLUS two more guest seats against the aft-cabin, all upholstered in thick supple white vinyl.  Hardtop reaches from the aluminum-framed windshield all the way aft to beyond the guest seats; aluminum sliding side-windows next to the helmseats and roll-up StrataGlass removable panels athwart and aft of the guest seats.   All seats have footrests or footplatforms, as they are high enough off the deck to ensure excellent visibility out.

Easy to go forward from the open cockpit doors, along the wide side-decks made safe by lifelines on stanchions.  More guest seating on seats (with removable cushions) molded all across the forward end of the salon-cabin.  Going aft, there's a short wooden  ladder to the deck above the aft stateroom cabin, which is surrounded by SSTL railing, and has two storage boxes under the aft edge of the cockpit hardtop.

Fiberglass dinghy tilts up onto swim platform; 3.3hp Mercury outboard aligns to vertical on swivel-mount.

Cockpit deck is covered in Nautolex vinyl, and has centerline hatches easily opened with all seats in-place, for stairs-entry into the gallery between the NEW Cummins-Mercruiser diesels.  When Helmseats are folded down, there's access to additional hatches over each engine.  Genset in its sound-enclsure is just forward of the stairs into the engine compartment.

Doors from cockpit to each cabin have the Chris-Craft trademark fold-down panel exposing ventilation screens; each cabin is entered via stairs with only two steps.

Forward cabin is one large open salon, with enclosed head in port aft corner, and long-counter galley all along portside. To starboard is one very tall hanging locker aft, then a settee whose seatback lifts up to create over/under berths.  Twin-pedestal table may be positioned anywhere between the galley and the settee.  The forepeak area is fully open to the salon, and may be configured either as an athwartship settee, OR twin overhead v-berths. Hullside shelving above the berths adds to the storage.   A modern touch is the flat-screen TV with integrated DVD on a fully-articulated mount that swings out from its hiding spot ahead of the galley; the Microwave also swings to hide.  Overhead lighting is supplemented by halogen task spotlights.  As in aft cabin, the cabin-sides are nearly all window, with sliding glass panels for ventilation, and curtains attached top and bottom.  Fabrics and finishes are appropriate to the era of the boat; note especially the marble-pattern formica thru-out.

Aft cabin has Full Double berth to port, plenty of storage drawers under-bed and hanging locker, and a large en-suite but private master head all long the starboard-side... this head includes a separated shower-stall area.  As in the forward cabin, bulkheads are finished in solid cedar, with a rich dark finish. Spectacular views out and light streaming in, thru walls of windows on both sides AND aft.
