Bristol 47.7 Center Cockpit

This very well cared for upscale cruiser is fully equipped and ready for departure. Two large cabins and heads and a very comfortable wood interior make for comfortable living. Owner's plans have changed and she is seriously for sale.  

Bristol 47.7's are very popular cruising yachts that provide good sailing characteristics, and comfortable accommodations. The 47.7 model grew from the earlier 45.5 model to provide better master stateroom accommodations. The master stateroom has a centerline queen, with custom mattress (1999) and a separate shower stall in the master head.

Accommodations and sailing are improved because of the electric Stoway mast, electric primary winches, 110 volt generator, water maker, and three zone air conditioning.

Starting forward the guest stateroom has large v-berths with a filler to combine them into one double berth (re-covered 2000.) This stateroom has good light and ventilation via 2 opening ports and overhead hatch with screens. There are 2 hanging lockers (port and starboard) in forward cabin, drawers and shelves for the guests. Headroom is good throughout the yacht (about 6'3" - 6'5"). The yacht has three zone, reverse cycle heat and air conditioning. The guest head is next aft to port with double door entry, one from main cabin and one from the stateroom. It has vanity and sink, hot and cold pressure water system, good storage, light, and ventilation. The electric head has the Raritan Lectra/San waste treatment system and a 40 gallon holding tank. There is a large hanging locker and additional storage across from the head to starboard.

The main cabin features 2 swivel chairs to starboard and L-shaped settee to port (blue upholstery 1998). The settee converts into a three quarter berth. A custom pipe-berth has been fitted over the swivel chairs for offshore passages and is considered a very good berth. Storage lockers and bookshelves are outboard of seating. The teak, double drop leaf dining table is centerline with additional storage built-in. The sole is solid teak and holly over marine plywood. The sole hatches (access panels) are designed for lock down for offshore cruising. The interior teak joinery is in excellent condition. All vertical surfaces are varnished in a satin finish with high gloss on the trim pieces. The locker doors are louvered for good looks and ventilation.

The large U-shaped galley is aft to starboard across from the navigation station, chart table and instrument console. The galley is equipped with a microwave oven, and a three-burner propane stove with oven. The propane system has a safety solenoid switch. Refrigeration is Grunert Cold Plate (new compressor 1998) with separate freezer. Bristol yachts have good counter top space and storage. There is a trash drawer under the galley sink.

The navigation station is in the companionway leading aft to the master stateroom. The navigation seat is facing aft, near the companionway to the center cockpit and helm. The electrical panel is within easy reach from the navigation station. The engine and generator compartment can easily be reached from this passageway and from the master head and shower stall area.

The master stateroom features the centerline queen berth with custom mattress and customized, center, removable lea board. All berths have lea cloths for offshore passages. This stateroom has very good storage space in louvered lockers, drawers, and shelves. Light and ventilation is very good. The master head has a separate shower stall. Both heads have tile sole for easy care. The white bulkheads and vanity are trimmed for varnished solid teak. This head has a Raritan electric head and a Lectra/San waste treatment system.

There are sixteen opening Bomar ports, all with new glass (2000). All ports and hatches have screens.
