REMARKS:                                “Merlin” was purchased by her current owner in 1998.  She has been sailed, mostly single handed, in the Blackwater and around the East Coast from Ramsgate to Snape.  Her owner is finding it more difficult to find the time and energy for sailing and boat maintenance so will reluctantly be giving up sailing and spending more time on other interests.  He tells us that the Pintail is a lovely boat, well designed, solidly constructed and a delight to sail.  Close hauled, the tiller can often be left unattended while tea is brewed for example and she will keep on track for some time depending on conditions, very useful when shorthanded.  Since owning her he has repaired, replaced or refurbished as necessary to get and keep everything working and she is now in much better condition than when he purchased her.  She is certainly a fine example of her class and looks extremely attractive with her resprayed topsides and nicely varnished brightwork.
