Ganda is a fast cruiser and a pleasure to sail (more details at yachtganda.com). With a wide beam aft and a large volume above the hard chines she resists heeling and can be sailed upwind at only 25 degrees – much less heel than most boats. The twin rudders provide tremendous “grip” and allow you to luff up or bear away in the gusts under total control. The overall feeling is one of speed, comfort and safety.

In performance terms she is quick. Upwind she will easily achieve over 7.5 knots and off the wind she will reach speeds in excess of 9 knots. She will cruise easily at 7.5 knots on the engine.

The rig is well proportioned with a fractional rig and 105% overlapping jib. The main sail is reefed first and second, leaving a full jib. In lighter winds the Code 0 provides sparkling performance and being set on a torsion rope furler is easily handled.

Manoeuvring is made simple with a powerful bow thruster and excellent rudder authority in reverse.

With no cabins aft, the cockpit is closer to the water than is normal for a modern yacht, which makes her very easy to get on and off from the pontoon. The open transom (with the aft wash board down) is walk on walk off which is very handy when you are loaded down with luggage or shopping.
