Huckins Sportsman 40

Exceptionally well restored and maintained classic Huckins with Yanmar diesel power. A personal inspection of this classic will confirm the excellent condition of "Coco." In 2012 she won the Mystic Show's "Best-of-Show" award.

From the cockpit, up two steps (one of which gives access to the aft bilge and shafts) you enter the pilothouse. The helmsman's seat to starboard accommodates two people, and the companion seat to port, accommodates one. There is a center deck hatch that provides access to the engine compartment. The helmsman and companion seats fold down to permit access to three hatches that allow complete full width access to the engine compartment. All hatches have been re-built and have sound insulation.

From the port side of the pilot house there is a companionway leading down two steps to the main cabin, which is open to the galley. Immediately to starboard is an L-shaped settee with back rests that are removable for storage access, and provide two full custom L-shaped twin mattresses as additional berths.

In the main cabin there is a mahogany drop leaf table that provides dining accommodation for four. To port there is a small, original drop leaf table for two, and ample storage behind sliding cabinet doors.

Stepping down from the main cabin two steps to the galley. To port is an under cabinet SS refrigerator, a SS sink and counter, and a cook top with oven. Opposite to starboard is a hanging locker, and forward is the head compartment with a stall shower. Throughout the galley and head compartment there is a new plywood sole with cork flooring.

Forward of the galley and head is a stateroom with large V-berths and custom twin mattresses. There are full length shelves above the V-berths, and two large drawers under and three lockers forward of the drawers.

Forward of the V-berths is a hanging and storage locker, with two cabinet doors accessing the anchor rode locker. There is a haws pipe for the anchor rode to reach the storage locker., and the anchor is catted in a custom Huckins bow sprit.
