Legacy Boat Downeast Cruiser
OWNER HAS ORDERED A NEW BIMINI TOP AND FULL ENCLOSURE TO BE COMPLETED THIS WINTER This very special 34’ Downeast Express Cruiser is a two owner boat that originated in the Chessapeak Bay Area where she was stored on her owners’ private lift (see photo). When she was five years old, her owner decided it was time to move up into a larger Legacy and she was traded. That was when the factory went all out to refit her like new. From stem to stern the factory re-fit included new Awlgrip hull topside painting, bright work refurbishing, new Sunbrella top and cushions (2006). Looking like this Legacy just came off the line, her current owner fell for her immediately and has taken very good care of her to keep her standing proud. WITH 740 TOTAL HORSE POWER FROM TWIN CUMMINS DIESELS, “SPLINTER” SHOULD EASILY CRUISE AT 25 KNOTS AND TOP OUT AROUND 30 KNOTS. Down a few steps below deck there is added comfort with REVERSE- CYCLE AC/HEAT ( running on shore power only) with roomy 6’5” headroom. Over to starboard you have a comfortable settee that is covered in a light and soft taupe fabric that easily pulls out to an extended berth. The teak trimmed table with leaves can be used to dine, relocated to the cockpit area or stowed away. The salon, head and galley have (4) stainless steel Hood portlights with screens for natural lighting and ventilation. Opposite to port is a clean and well equipped "L" shaped galley. There is a two burner propane cook top, under counter refrigerator that will operate on either AC or DC power,( a great feature for hanging on the hook), stainless sink with single lever control and sprayer nozzle. Overhead is a built in microwave with digital controls nicely trimmed in teak. There are several draws, a large dry storage locker in the counter and lockers over and under. The private head is to port aft of the galley conveniently located adjacent to the companionway. Forward is the bow state room. There is a large nicely upholsterd V-berth that converts with a filler to a huge berth for two. There are 4 drawers for storage( under), a hanging locker, and 4 large overhead cabinet bins. Above the berth is a large 18”x18” deck hatch that provides terrific lighting and ventilation. There are also two Hood stainless steel portlights with screens. The woodwork below really looks sharp with the contrasting white Herishoff styling with varnished trim and varnished teak and holly deck.
The 34 Legacy layout is very versatile for people who may want to fish or just a weekend cruiser. The cockpit is roomy enough for a few anglers or to set up a table for cocktails and lounging.
Splinter is equipped with a polished aluminum radar arch and her canvas was updated in 2006. She has varnished teak fold down seating across the transom, a transom door, teak swim platform and hot and cold Transom Shower.
There is great visibility from the dual helm seating covered in white rolled upholstery with navy piping. The helm has a teak deck, teak accented seating and ships wheel adding an elegant touch to her downeast classic style.
