This is a classic timber framed gaff ketch. Constructed of iron wood or "Chengal" Latin name "Neobalanocarpus Heimii") to include the spars in Chengal
Built by Haji A. Bin Muda Ship Yard in Terenganu, West Malaysia.
Construction plank on frame. Planks are 1 1/4" thick, bronze fastened and wood trunnels between planks every 6". Cabin sides are 1 1/2" thick of a single plank.
Planking is so finely fitted that no caulking is used or needed.
Cruising speed 7 knots, maximum 11 knots. Not unusual to make 240 miles per day.
