You owe it to yourself to consider this sailboat above other makes.

The Precision 27 achieves her performance objectives of winning speed, safety, stability, and reliable handling by means of a very carefully refined combination of a fine waterline entry, substantial flare to the topsides forward, and powerful sections aft that taper to an only moderately broad transom. This precise fore and aft balance of hull volume avoids the trim and handling problems that less symmetrical hulls suffer when heeled, and it gives reassuring margins of both reserve buoyancy forward and of "knockdown stability." The fixed keel of the Precision 27 is a deliberate departure from that of her smaller keel-centerboard sisters, which are all designed to be easily trailered. The Precision 27 is large enough not to be trailered on a regular basis. With her keel design freed from the constraints trailering imposes, she could be given a standard keel drawing a substantial 3.6 feet. (Fixed keels with significantly less draft, even if fitted with wings, have proven to perform poorly upwind). The Precision 27 keel is an external lead casting that features a very carefully developed "end plate effect bulb" at the tip, a well-proven design that provides excellent upwind efficiency and stability, is less troublesome than wings, and approaches the all-around performance potential of the deep-draft elliptical fin. Her meticulous deck and cockpit detailing reflect the long and careful thought that designer and builder put into her development. Wheel steering is standard, and both main and genoa sheets are led aft near the helm for easy shorthanded sailing. Inboard chain plates and genoa tracks allow close-winded sheeting angles and easy passage past the low, sleek cabin house. The cockpit is longer than typical, and features reassuringly deep seats and a closed transom to keep both crew and gear securely inside. The high coamings are precisely angled for maximum comfort both upright and heeled, and there is no awkward bridge deck to clamber over when going below. This shares in Precision's well-deserved reputation for exquisite tooling, sound construction and thoughtful detailing.  Precision Boat Works has always eschewed flash-in-the-pan gimmickry in favor of structural integrity and long term functionality, and this straightforward approach has earned them an enviable reputation in the marketplace to life almost literally by popular demand.

A great deal of design energy has been placed into the interior.  The wide-open and spacious feeling is achieved by angled bulkheads and aft location of the head.  The deck stepped mast is supported by a rugged aluminum post, which also supports the drop leaf cabin table.  The table is surrounded by a U-shaped settee that seats up to six adults.  The master cabin is aft and to port, featuring a double berth, ample headroom, and a vanity counter.  The private head is to starboard and has a sink and vanity, wet locker, and a manual marine head with holding tank.  Further forward is the electrical panel and navigation station.  Six foot plus sailors will find the double berth forward quite spacious and will appreciate the privacy curtain and lack of annoying cushion gimmickry.  The full sized settees berth to port and starboard mean the Precision 27 can sleep 6 adults.

As you enter the cockpit from the aft boarding gate you realize the wonderful cockpit area immediately.  The large cockpit has ample seating for 6.  Under the starboard settee is a large storage lazerette and the starboard aft seat opens to reveal the emergency tiller, while the port side opens and reveals a self-draining ice chest.  The helm is nicely placed with excellent visibility.  The engine panel is recessed mounted to starboard.  All lines lead to the cockpit so the boat is easily single-handed.  The sailing instrumentation is mounted on the mast and easily read.  Wide side decks make maneuverability a breeze.  High stainless steel stanchions with a single life line provide safety as well as teak handrails mounted on the cabin top.  Down the companionway steps you enter the main cabin.  Immediately to port is the L-shaped galley.  The galley features a dual burner alcohol stove (with cutting board cover), large stainless steel sink, in counter deep ice chest, and ample storage cabinets and drawers.  Through a wood privacy door aft of the galley is the master cabin featuring a double berth, outboard storage shelving, cabinets and storage.  Across from the galley is the electrical panel and navigation station.  The lower cabinet door opens upward and acts as the navigation desk.  Aft of the navsta is the head with manual marine toilet with holding tank, an outboard hanging wet locker, a vanity with stainless steel sink and storage.  Back in the main cabin and forward are the port and starboard settees with under cushion storage.  The port side extended forward and under the forward berth for a longer sleeping area.  The center lined folding table can be opened and sea t six adults.  All the way forward is the guest cabin which can be separated from the main cabin by a privacy curtain.  There are outboard storage shelving and an overhead hatch.  The fabrics and beautiful wood cabinetry and joinery match extremely well.
