Clark-Miller &Sons Cheone - !!!!!!!!!!!!!
CHEONE Strongly built in 1937in St. Monance , Scotland on a design of Robert Clark under the name of Tresca,Cheone is a fast and reliable Marconi cutter. She was deeply checked and restored before taking part to her round the world rally in 1990.After the navigation Cheone is back in Italy in 1992 .When she was in Australia, local old salts recognize her .Infact a previous owner made another round the world tour in 1960! Again in the Caribbean sea in 1999-2001 ,she is now back in Italy and looks for new adventures! Hull and planking are in very good state. She is planked with the best quality Burma Teak. and her structures are strong and oversized . Cheone is one of the few vintage yachts of her size to have been extensively sailed thanks to her structures and her comfortable accomodations layout. After her second round the world tour (1990) she has been deeply checked and all her system have been changed at Cantieri dell'Argentario and this is maybe the most renewed italian boatyard for the quality of their work . Actually she has the same (aged but good ) systems and machinery including 2 Perkins 90HP engines, always serviced.A less old genset (about 1500hours) a Shenker watermaker (80 l/h) Everything works . The deck : Original teak on beams deck from the bow to the aft side of the doghouse in acceptable conditions for the age. Strangely enough, only the aft side of the yacht was redecked at Cantieri Argentario in 1992 on plywood layer over original beams, and it seems that the original part is still in better conditions than what was changed ! Accommodations : Inside she has a huge Owner's cabin with bathroom ensuite , 2 guest cabins with 2 bunk beds and a crew cabin for 2 .4 bathrooms all together. There is a wide foc'sole with workroom which could be transformed into a crew cabin and therefore you could have 1 more guest cabin. the captain told me also about a plan of making a bigger guest cabin with king size bed... Comments . I believe Cheone is a very interesting and important yacht on wich one should plan to invest in a new deck and new systems Her price is in the lower side of the range of similar boats in sailaway conditions considering the importance of her design, her teak construction and the very good structure .
