Elan Impression 434 - World Cruising Yacht

2007,REDUCED!  fin, 2009 sailed ARC to St Lucia, 2010 sailed ARC Europe, now based in Altea, new bowthruster fitted 2012, new stack pack mainsail cover 2012, new batteries 2013, superb cruising yacht!

CONSTRUCTION                             Built in 2007.  GRP construction with grey topsides and white superstructure, teak laid decks and cockpit, fin keel, self draining aft cockpit with wheel steering and Bermudan sloop rig with 10 berth internal layout in 4 cabins.

 

BUILDER:                                          Designed by Rob Humphries and built by Elan Yachts of Slovenia.  Hull number 212.  Part I British Registered.

SAILS  & RIG:                           Slab reefing fully battened mainsail (2007, Victory) with Stackpak mainsail cover and lazyjacks (C & J Marine, 2012).  Furlex genoa roller reefing system with Furling No 1 Genoa (2007, Victory).  Storm Jib (2007).  Gennaka (2008).  Extra 3rd reef in mainsail.  Removable inner forestay.  Alloy mast and boom by Seldon and stainless steel standing rigging.

 

ENGINE:                                            Volvo Penta 55HP inboard diesel engine (2007) with freshwater heat exchanger.  280 litre fuel capacity with a consumption per hour of around 3 litres at a cruising speed of around 6.5 knots.   Her maximum speed under engine is around 8 knots.  Saildrive to Flexifold folding propeller.  Alternator charging to 4 x 105 amp/hr 12 volt batteries and one 90 amp/hr 12 volt battery, all new in 2013.  Current engine hours are around 757.

BOWTHRUSTER:                             Side power Bowthruster installed new as a replacement unit in 2012.

 

DECK GEAR:                              Stainless steel pushpit, pulpit and guardwires, sprayhood, bimini (new 2009), cockpit cushions, Taff rail seat cushions, boarding ladder, bathing platform, spinnaker pole, 2 self tailing sheet winches, 2 self tailing halyard winches, Honwave inflatable dinghy with Mercury 15HP outboard motor, Bruce main anchor with 50m of 10mm chain, Loffrans electric anchor windlass, Bruce kedge anchor, 2 main hatches were changed in 2012 for Lewmar hatches with Oceanair blinds.  Mooring warps and 8 fenders.

 

SAFETY GEAR:                          6 man liferaft with service date in 2015.  Jackstay lifelines on side decks, Danbuoy, 2 lifebuoys with Solas lights, 8 lifejackets, 6 safety harnesses, full RORC pack of distress flares and more, 3 fire extinguishers, EPIRB distress beacon, heaving line, electric bilge pump.  Manual bilge pump.

 

NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT:        Plastimo compass, Raymarine ST60 instruments including echo sounder and log, wind speed and wind direction, Navman DSC VHF radio, ICOM 802 SSB radio, FM/AM radio, windvane at masthead, Raymarine autopilot, Raymarine personal remote control, 2 x Raymarine E80 chart plotters with graphic display and radar overlay.  NASA Navtex, NASA AIS, Firdell Blipper radar reflector, clock and barometer, navigation lights, steaming light, tri colour masthead light (LED) and anchor light (LED). 

 

 

DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT:            She has an Eberspacher D7 diesel hot air heating system, 240 volt shore power with galvanic isolator, solar panel trickle charging batteries.  Her galley has a gas cooker with 2 burners and oven, built in refrigerator, 70 litre holding tank, pressurised hot and cold water supply with hot water via engine calorifier or 240 volt electric immersion, 2 separate heads compartments one with electric toilet and both with washbasin and shower, blue fabric upholstery with blinds and carpets.

FEATURES:                                       Desalinator water maker (45 litres per hour).   Pactor Modem.  Fisher Panda 4.9 KVA generator.

 

 

REMARKS:                                “Gilly of London” was purchased by her current owners in May 2007 from Premier Marina’s in Swanwick.  Her owners went to Slovenia to see the boat being built and then spent one year in Gosport after her delivery.  In 2008 they sailed to Port Medoc on the Gironde for 4 months and then to Villamoura where they stayed for one year.  In May 2009 the boat was fitted out for the ARC, the mast was unstepped for inspection, a water maker was fitted, SSB radio and pactor modem, extra 50amp battery charger and solar panel.  In October 2009 she was sailed to Gran Canaria via Madeira and she then took part in the ARC in November that year, sailing to St Lucia and being placed 37th overall.  In 2010 she complete the ARC Europe and had 1st place from the British Virgin Islands to Bermuda and 1st place Bermuda to the Azores.  In 2011 she was moved to Gibraltar for one year and then in 2012 moved to Altea where the boat is currently located.  New skin fittings, lever valves, hose tails were fitted in DZR or Bronze, her holding tank had new pipe work and an electric toilet fitted.  Main hatches changed for Lewmar with Oceanair blinds.  A new bowthruster was fitted in 2012 and new Stackpak system for the mainsail in 2012.  New batteries were fitted in 2013. 

The boat comes ashore every winter for polishing and antifoul and has been maintained to the highest standard.  The engine is serviced at least once a year.  The Saildrive oil is changed every year and the propeller is stripped, cleaned and greased annually.  Oil seals on leg changed in 2011.  Her owners are selling as the time is right and they now have a share in a new Lagoon 45.
