Royal Huisman Sloop Rigged Sailing Yacht

BILLY BUDD II (ex Saudade) is an impressive sloop rigged sailing yacht that underwent a major refit in 2010 to her present owners specification for high latitude sailing/exploration/adventure. She was originally designed by Judel Vrolijk and built inaluminum at the Royal Huisman Shipyard in Holland.   The interior, designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder, is of hand-­crafted joinery made from mahogany with ebony inlays, teak soles and white painted bulkheads, combining traditional with a modern light and airy feel to the interior.

BILLY BUDD II achieves impressive performance results from a fast hull, carbon fibre mast and spars (completely overhauled 2010) and modern sails, slab reef main with Nordic ‘park avenue’ boom (new 2010) and hydraulic furling to the 3 headsails (reacher, genoa, staysail).  She features a profusion of technical systems, many of which have been fully overhauled or replaced in the 2010 refit.  Equipment has been selected for reliability during world cruising in remote locations under extreme conditions.

The yacht features a main guest cockpit with stainless steel framed bimini, which leads into the deck house/upper saloon.  The twin helm positions are immediately aft of the cockpit, allowing guests to feel part of the action but clear of the crew.

The deck house offers panoramic views, perfect for when dining inside, and when navigating the vessel. Going forward the lower saloon offers additional dining and TV area with coffee table.  Galley and crew areas are forward of the mast.

Aft from the deck house, down the stairs to the passageway there are two identical guest cabins, each with ensuite, and then at the end of the passageway is the Owners Stateroom, full width with ensuite including a bath.
