Island Gypsy Halvorsen 44 Aft Cabin Trawler

This is a beautiful home away from home for the present owners. They have cruised Florida and the general area for the last few years; it is time to go home. Hailing from the great Northwest they have literally grown up in the trawler capital of the world. They searched long and hard before they found a boat that would meet the requirements that had been instilled in their boating history of rough water, unforgiving passes and inclement weather.

One might say that this tough Kong-Halverson hull would be overkill for Florida. But why not, if she is available right here in the Sunshine State. Who knows, you might just want to hitch her up and take off for the deep southern Virgins or Central America/Mexico; the point being she can take anything and provide the comfort and safety of the absolute best that money can buy.

This classic Kong Halvorsen trawler is built very reminiscent of her sisters at Island Gypsy and Kong and Halvorsen.  Once the short stairs are navigated into a massive main cabin area; one gets the sense of openness and room to stretch. Halvorsen has escaped that claustrophobic feeling that many vessels seem to retain from the moment the designer removes them from the drafting board.

The starboard forward there is the lower helm which is accompanied by the old fashion wooden ships wheel. There is a reclining Stressless chair also to the starboard side wall.

Across the way to port is a large fold out couch with a very nice coffee table for snacks and drinks. All of these face the large flat screen TV to the port forward shelf.

Aft of salon is a good size galley with access through a pass through the salon. The galley is larger than most and features a very large stainless refrigerator along with a convection microwave, a stainless sink along with coffee maker and ice maker.
