The Transpac 49 offers an excellent value in the genre' of family blue water cruisers which features an aft cabin, center cockpit moderate draft cruising yacht . The master stateroom boasts a huge berth and three "pirate" windows in the transom. The hull is hand laid one piece FRP with the decks molded FRP core sandwich construction and mechanically bonded to the hull. The teak decks have been removed a glassed over, No leaky Teaky here!

At 49' long, she is a large boat. However, she is a staysail ketch and rigged to be sailed short-handed. Roller furlers are used throughout with lines leading to the cockpit with the exception of the main sail which features lazy jacks

One of the first comments we hear when a person steps below is "wow, there is so much room". The wide beam provides two important design elements: lots of room below and stability. There is minimum headroom of 6' 3" throughout.

Accommodations & Layout

The interior of the Transpac 49 is beautifully finished in natural burmese teak, solid laid teak and holly cabin sole and very well-constructed interior makes you feel as though you are on a sailing ship of old and not a production built private yacht. The large windows and ample ventilation let in an abundance of natural light and ventilation making the interior warm and cozy

The three private cabins (This is a true tri-cabin layout) and permanent pilot berths provide four separate sleeping areas for maximum privacy. She sleeps 9 owners and guests in three staterooms, plus two in the dinette and one settee berth for a total of nine berths. The master stateroom is Aft with head, separate stall shower and large bed. This boat is also very unique in that she features a large walk in engine room with work Beginning in the forward stateroom that features a V-berth with storage under, large hanging locker, bookshelves, opening ports for good ventilation; going back the second guest stateroom to port features upper/lower berths in the port with an abundance of storage.;

The salon has a L shaped dinette to port, wine locker and across to starboard is an additional oversize settee. The u shaped galley is aft and to port and the giant size refrigerator/freezer is to starboard. The passageway has the nav station to starboard and engine room access to port. The master stateroom has a large athwart ship double berth with spacious lockers, drawers and three transom windows (lockers and bookshelf above) which provide an interesting view while underway; she also boast an ensuite head with separate shower stall, and cabinets. The walk in, stand up engine room is accessed through the aft head and also features a complete work station including vice

The topside has just as much room to move around, large flush deck provides an amazing amount of out door living area. Behind the cockpit are roomy lockers, a BBQ grill.
