EXTERIOR

The Westwood A405 is designed to offer its owners the feeling of being aboard a "little ship" whilst offering the fitout and finish of a superyacht. Hence the inclusion to the exterior of a solid toe rail to the deck edge, an "Eye brow " to the forward cabin windows. Sturdy stainless steel gaurdrails encompass the decks with a middle rail of equal gauge to the top rail. Folding access gates are located amidships to port and starboard and a forward raised section for safe anchor work. Five deck cleats are standard and fender basketys are incorporated within the forward rails. The fore deck is a large flat area to give easy and safe useage for foredeck crew. The side decks leading aft feature 1 step aft to the cockpit region which is fully surrounded by a moulded aft deck GRP dodger incorporating seating on the rear deck. A full canopy incorporating the rear deck is fitted as standard with the forward section being easily and quickly collapsible when the mast requires folding. The mast and screens are folding allowing the boat to navigate beneath the lowest of bridges. The helm station is offset to starboard with two captains seats fitted giving excellent all around vision to helmsperson and crew and being comfortable for long passages either inland or at sea. To the transom a moulded staircase fetures access to the bathing platform which being of approximately 4' in depth gives easy access to side on moorings or allows space for ancillary in water accessories. All the windows to the A405 are bonded giving condensation free visibility and low maintenmance on going.

FORWARD CABIN

Designed as a matching master stateroom rather than a geuest cabin the forwartd cabin features as standard a island double berth with clean moulded headlinings ensuring excellent headroom and space throuh the entire cabin area. The timbers on the craft 02 are finished in satin finsh varnish giving an air of practicality and oppulance throughout the interior from the forward cabin aft.The cabin features wardrobes and ample storwage throught with bedside shelving for odments. Deep piule carpeting adds to the luxuary and quality expected from this manufacturer.

FORWARD HEADS/SHOWER

Being of jack and jill design with doors to the forward cabin and dinette the forward wet room features a port light, surface mounted washbasin, toilet  and shower with ample stowage facilities. work tops are of the highest quality and designed to be easy clean throughout the area.

DINETTE

Located to port and featuring a large table to seat 6 easily with the use of addittional stools, the dinette has 2 port lights giving excellent natural light. The table lowers to become a 5th and 6th occaisional berth as required or at standard height gives addittional working area adjacent to the galley. Stowage is located beneath the dinette seating, all being fully lined throughout to ensure dry stowage areas.

GALLEY

The attention to deatail of the construction of a WESTWOOD vcontionues toi the galley region being finished in high quality modern materials with a marble type work surface, flush handleless cupboard doors, eye level oven and gril, 4 burner domestic sized hob, double inset circular sinks, a port light at work top height giving natural daylight to the space. Wood imatation effect easy clean flooring is standard to ensure any possible spillages are easliy cleaned up with a removeable flor board giving addittional stowage space below al fully lined with no bare gelcoat in sight.

SALOON

Accessed by 2 steps from the galley and featuring a U shape sofa to starboard with an addittional fitted arm chair to port, The saloon can comfortably accomodate 6 and is open plan to the dinette giving a superb social feeloing throughout the interior of the vessel. The saloon floor lifts to give access to the mechanics, this however is only requiored for major servicing as all daily inspection requirements are accesses via the aft cabin engine room door. To port a glass fronted cocktail cupboard features in the centre of the sideboard and a flat screen TV can be fitted on the rear buckhead. Five steps of open design with sturdy stainless steel handrails lead up to the rear deck leaving a feeling of space to port giving wide access to the rear cabin. THe entire saloon is surrounded by moulded in frameless cabin windos which are tinted to ensure the cabin are does not overheat.

AFT CABIN

Featuring a centrally located island double berth with panoramic transom hatches and window centrally located offer this commonly regarded dark cabin an air of difference froim any competition within craft of this size. A full size wardrobe, vanity unit and ample stowage cupboard are included to ensure space is available for all the paraphenallia required aboard can easily be stored away. All side linings are of soft finisy all ensuring a feeling of space and quality throughout the cabin. A doior to the starboard side of the aft bulkhead gives access into the engine room allowing on a single engined version full access to the engine room easily allowing daily maintenance checks to be carried out with out the requirement of any dismantling of furniture.

ENSUITE SHOWER AND TOILET ROOM

The space offered within this area is surprising and would be associated with craft in the upper 40' size rtather than this 38' hull. Included are a full size domestic type shower cubical with glass partition, Surface mouthed wash basin and marine head. Two port lights give good airflow and excellent natural light. Stowage facilities are fitted below the counter tops.

ENGINE ROOM

The A405 benefits from numerous engine options from single or twin deritives. The engiene room is fully painted out and finished to ensure any enngineering problems are easily seen and reached. Dailay checks are done via an access door from the aft cabin with the saloon flooring being removeable for major seasonal servicing. Domestic systems can also be acessed via the aft cabin door. The entire enhgine room is fully soundproofed giving ultra quiet insulation when the craft is under way to all cabins.
