Custom Built 740 Shrimp Boat

1973 Custom Built 740 Shrimp Boat Built by the current owner in 1972 and 1973, this Custom Built Shrimping vessel was built for very tough conditions. Planked with one layer of 2" x 6" cypress planks over frames made of 4" x 6" southern yellow pine. Hull is fully double planked on the interior so she has three layers of cypress planking. Hull was originally nailed with monel nails and renailed with stainless nails. The hull was sand blasted in the 90's and sheathed in 2 layers of matte and 2 layers of biaxial roving, stapled with monel staples and fiberglassed to the cypress planking.. She has a 6 to 1 gear clutch twin disk. Surplus generator, 5/18 t 3 drum winch. She has all stainless steel cable nets (40') built of spectra, 2 white and 2 brown, with 8' x 36" aluminum doors rigged with stainless steel cable. Driven by a 52" 4 blade Bronze Michigan swayback wheel for more power, square tipped on a monel shaft ... She has a 17 1/2 ft. straight shaft, NO JACK SHAFT!! Overall she is 38 ft. with 2 Cabins and a step up the wheel house. New batteries this year!! Fuel tanks replaced in 1991 Holds 32,000 LBS of Shrimp! 12,000 GALLON FRESH WATER!
