The Carver 2807 Riviera is a compact family cruiser whose affordable price and efficient twin-cabin layout struck a responsive cord with a good many budget-minded boaters in the 1980s.
Needless to say, there are only a handful of 28-footers with two staterooms. Heavily built
on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide beam, the best part about this boat is her open-air center cockpit with its wraparound windshield. Visibility from the helm is excellent, the side windshields
provide some protection from the weather, and there’s seating for six around the dinette table and jump seat. When the weather turns sour owners can snap on the camper-style canvas enclosure panels and keep on going. Below, the galley is forward and shares cabin space with the convertible dinette and the enclosed head compartment. Aft, the full-width guest stateroom can sleep three.

A large cockpit with plenty of seating makes the Carver 28 Riviera ideal for open-air cruising and entertaining. Its cockpit features a custom dry-bar, raised seating for 360-degree visibility, and a cruising dinette that easily converts to a double berth. For extended cruises, the Riviera features the luxury of two private staterooms. The stateroom aft offers both a single and a double berth with a convenient vanity, as well as a hanging locker and ample storage space. The 28's main cabin features a spacious U-shaped dinette lounge that converts to a large double berth. There's a fully equipped galley with a stainless steel sink, a stove with an oven, a refrigerator, and ample counter and storage space. The head compartment includes a large vanity and a hot shower. The electronics arch is standard, and so is the comfortable six-foot sunlounge on the aft deck.
