Canoe Cove 41 Tri Cabin

In a 1984 Canadian Yachting powerboat review, the Canoe Cove 41 Tri Cabin was referred to as being more like a classic Bentley than a fully loaded Cadillac. When you board THE WESTIE, you will definitely appreciate that simile and agree that she unquestionably lives up to that reputation. She has been continually updated over the last several years by her three sets of very knowledgeable owners. Her current owners have continued to coddle her and have kept her as an extremely well maintained vessel with many upgrades.

THE WESTIE is a classic 41' Canoe Cove Tri Cabin built in Sidney BC.  These high quality designs were very popular for their time and are still widely appreciated today. The Canadian government used this hull design for their Coast Guard, RCMP patrol boats, Fisheries and other government agencies. They were built to exacting standards with government inspectors in the plant during construction of all hulls. A notable design feature is the height of the vessel has been kept low resulting in a more attractive design and a lower center gravity which improves stability.

THE WESTIE’s accommodation is excellent with two roomy cabins, two heads, a separate shower and an ample salon with a galley midships.  Her attractive wood interior is bright, comfortable, warm, and in surprisingly good condition.  She is powered by twin diesel 165 hp turbo-charged Perkins.

There is a reasonably large cockpit aft allowing lots of elbow and foot room for handling her dinghy which is mounted on electric davits. She also sports a huge flying bridge deck for comfort during passage-making or for entertaining with the other cruisers in the anchorage. Coming in from the cockpit, you step down into the main stateroom. There is a full-size double bed to port then master head and shower. To starboard is a large closet then, stepping up to the main salon, a galley is to port and aft to starboard are the stairs up to the lounge deck. Low set windows in the salon allow you to sit comfortably and have a wonderful view. Forward to port is the lower helm and in the center are the steps leading down to the forward berths and head.

THE WESTIE is a real head-turner in any port, quite complete, extremely well equipped and ready to carry you away to those distant ports in total convenience and comfort.
