Cornu/Jouet Ketch - Priced for quick sale
The classic design, fast cruising yacht is undergoing restoration and is for sale to the right buyer, who wants to own one of these beautiful yachts and restore her to their own specifications. The structure, as with all Cornu/Jouet yachts are very sound with mahogany planking, and as you can see from the current pictures of the mast, they are in excellent shape. There is still work to be done and the owner continues to make improvements, such as; Replaced rotten Iroko decks with 2 (1/2") sheets of French Joubert Okume ply. The whole 1" assembly was epoxy-glassed and awl-gripped in Matterhorn white. All glued down with West System and mechanically fastened every 6" with oversized silicon bronze wooden screws. In this way, the boat shape was secured and rigidity added to the structure without compromising general flex. Cabin-house and its' roof top was handled in the same way.Deck beams were only replaced when necessary, as it was the case with the whole front end of the cabin-house. With this accomplished, all long length Honduras Mahogany planks seems were reefed out and filled with chopped-strand GRP and compounded with putty and lots of hi-build. Here, to get the most out of the old timber, the exterior finish was peeled out, the seems were reefed and kept traditionally. She was painted with red lead and re-caulked all seems with treated cotton, finishing up with red lead putty. Bottom hull has been scrutinized for any harm, painted black with Micron 66 and is in perfect shape. All wooden masts' and booms was peeled sanded and duly varnished. Stainless steel was cleaned and re-galvanized. Standing rigging is in fair shape and most running rigging is new. All sails (only main, mizzen, jib and yankee) are Hood and if of some age, they look very well and strong. A very good Westerbeke 71C with a Hurth tranny was installed. Aligned and balanced the shaft and worked prop, cutlass bearings, etc. The battery bank is comprised of (2) 4D wet cell @320 amps and recharged by (2) solar panels. The windlass is a totally rebuilt Lofrans Falcon and there is a Bruce 66 at the other end of 100 ft. 1/2" chain . Also, there are (2) good bilge pumps with Senior Ultra Switches along with a new installed Raymarine depth sunder. This is a one of a kind opportunity for you to own this classic beauty.
