"Contessa" is a beautirul roomy yacht that has been well maintained and tastefully decorated.  Most of the original decor has been replaced with contemporary materials and styling, giving her a very fresh feel once you enter the cabin.  The salon is already very large, and since it opens up into the dinette and galley down, it feel enormous for a 44' yacht.  The accompanying photos show the layout and brilliant use of space that Viking incorporated into her build.  The full-beam aft cabin features a centerline queen berth, private head (vacu-flush) with stall shower and vanity, two large hanging lockers, custom window treatments, and a tremendous amount of drawer and cabinet-style storage.  Forward of the salon and down are the "U-shaped" galley to port and open galley to starboard.  The entire space is very large and open, eliminating the "galley down" feel that some competing boats can give you.  The galley has new wood flooring, a new solid surface countertop, upgraded appliances, and a very comfortable feel.  Forward is the Guest stateroom which offers a set of extra-wide over/under berths to port, a comfortable settee to starboard, private entrance to the guest/day head, an overhead hatch, flat screen TV, and plenty of storage in hanging locker and drawers.  The yacht is extremely comfortable, and would suit well for serious cruisers as well as someone interested in living aboard.
