Contest 38 S

The Contest 38 S built by Conyplex in Medemblik is a very seaworthy yacht. The boat that we offer is in good condition and the current owner has had major refits carried out in recent years. Among others a new teak deck is laid, the hull professionally painted, the underwater hull underwent an osmosis treatment. Also a revised engine is placed in 2011.

The boat is ketch rigged which has the great advantage that one can reef in smaller steps and the clotch is much easier to handle than a larger sail. The sails were recently renewed (see specs). In the cockpit you find good shelter behind the fixed windows. Setting and reefing sail is done at the mast.

The interior is beautifully finished with mahogany and has a nice nautical atmosphere. It is striking how tidy the boat still is, even after many years of sailing. Upon entering the galley is left. Perhaps not quite of todays standard is the hot water supply by gas geyser, but it does work well. Right is the navigation table with the necessary equipment. Amidships is the salon with sofas around, and a large folding table in the middle. The cushions are of good quality. Both in the bow and in the aft are doubles. For the main bulkhead left the toilet, and left large closets. The engine, a revision block from 2011, is under the cockpit and very accessible.
