Custom David Mix 55 - Price just reduced
Designed and built by David Mix, "Myth" fits the genre of the Dashew style of fast cruisers like the Sundeer and Deerfoot ranges. Fast cruising that allows one to outrun weather systems and shorten passage times while minimizing rolling and pitching is an enticing alternative to sailing heavy boats that have to motor in light air. Myth's has a lightweight construction on a long waterline with moderate six foot draft and a manageable sailplan split between two masts that can pass under ICW bridges. The deck and hull are constructed with Tri-axial fiberglass using only epoxy resin over a Kledgicell foam core. High stress areas on either side of the keel are re-inforced with carbon fiber. Flush decks, center cockpit and a hard dodger complete a design package that reeks of speed and efficiency. The interior is well lit with white vertical surfaces and overhead. The layout features a desirable owner's aft stateroom with centerline double berth, extensive storage and an engine room that allows easy access to all sides of the motor and systems. The galley is of small apartment proportions in terms of sinks, counter space and storage. The owner's of Myth sail to the Caribbean, Florida or the Bahamas each year at speed and in safety. Over the past twenty years Myth has proved herself to be the consummate passagemaker and cruising yacht for a couple. Key assets include If you are looking for 'good offshore', 'fast', 'interesting', 'well constructed' amongst many other adjectives, then make an appointment to see "Myth". Storage cabinets have rattan fronts to allow airflow. Across from the galley is the chart table, with dedicated seat, shelving alongside and a wet locker behind. Through the bulkhead behind the chart table is an oval opening through which one steps into the walkthrough to the aft cabin. On the outer/hull side of the walkthrough are extensive shelves for storage; engine access is through a panel midships, below the floor of the cockpit. There is also crawlspace gaining access to the area round the engine compartment. The aft or master cabin has the feel of a bedroom. Double bed, amidships and vast amounts of storage, behind curtains on both sides, with . Forward and to port is the aft head which gives access to the more storage as well as plumbing, wiring and the 'bowels of the boat'. The salon has two long settees down each side, with teak trim and teak cabinet doors. A stunning teak table is situated just to port of center, with leaves that fold up at mealtimes and vertical supports at each end of the table with teak beams attached to the coachroof over the port settee providing strength as well as interest. Storage is located behind each seat back, as well as below the seats in in cabinets above.
Forward of the starboard settee is more storage, with a counter that the current owners use for a keyboard, bookshelves above. Through a doorway is a head to port and the v-berth forward. The v-berth is spacious and light and has open access to a storage 'bin' in the bow of the boat, as well as the anchor locker.
