Wheeler Playmate Picnic Boat - Beautiful Wheeler Cruiser

This is a beautiful example of a Wheeler Cruiser, which was featured in the February 2006 edition of Classic Boating.

For over 55 years, Wheeler produced high quality custom built wooden vessels and SAWSEA is one of the last boats built by this fine company. The concept for Wheeler cruisers at the time was based on maximum built-in comfort, gracious livability, and convenience for the owner, guests and crew.

SAWSEA completed a complete refit in 1995/96 and has been beautifully maintained since then by Crockers Boat Yard in Manchester, MA. Upgrades include new Crusader engines, a new teak deck and new mahogany trim.

Among Wheeler's famous fans was Ernest Hemingway, who owned "PILAR," a 38' Wheeler Sport Fisherman Playmate.
