Kona 36 Cutter - Spectaular quality vessel

Built by the Sung Yang Chemical Corp. in Korea, reportedly five of these hulls were constructed.

"Elation" is a heavily built full keel cutter owned by the same loving family since her initial launch in 1980.  Between 2005 and 2010 over $125K was spent on a total rebuild including a new deck, re-bonding of bulkheads, mast rebuild with new running and standing rigging, new engine, new electronics,new steering, etc.

ELATION is a boat which never fails to elicit a rave comment from anyone who sees her within ear shot! She has won 14 Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade awards (Twice Sweepstakes winner) and six Independence Day Parade awards (three top prizes). She's a boat one can be proud to own and enjoy as a family retreat.

Sleeps a total of eight with a double berth forward, high/low singles and a convertible dinette in the salon and a double berth in the master stateroom.

The anchor locker is forward followed by a double berth stateroom with storage in lockers on starboard and shelving on port.  Next aft is the salon area that features a convertible dinette on port and a settee on starboard that convert to hi/lo bunks.  Aft of the salon is the U-shaped galley on port and an enclosed head shower on starboard.  There is a outboard facing chart table in the companionway aft to the aft cabin with electronics and electric panel in the same area.  Aft is the master stateroom with a transverse double berth all of the way aft and ample storage in lockers, cabinets, and drawers.  There is a workroom/storage area to port and forward of the master stateroom available through a large access door. 

The interior woodwork is solid teak with white overhead paneling and a combination of carpeting and teak and holly flooring.  There is abundant light and ventilation below through a combination of bronze opening ports and overhead hatches. The aft stateroom features transom windows and an overhead butterfly hatch that is also a deck access hatch if desired.  The level of workmanship throughout the boat is of the highest quality and deserves to be viewed in person.
