ORIGINAL OWNERS....OUTSTANDING CONDITION

MADRIGAL is an outstanding example of a 35' Hinckley Pilot yawl due to the constant care and updating of her original owners. Her equipment list has been kept simple and straightforward, to facilitate ease of maintenance for an owner who enjoys doing much of his own work. Particular attention has been paid to allow MADRIGAL to be easily singlehanded. She has also been raced successfully from 1966-1973, and cruised regularly from Maine to Halifax, and South to the Chesapeake.

            Due to advancing years of her owners, the vessel is now offered for sale.

HULL & DECK:

• 2010 Black awlgripped hull by Lyman Morse, with gold cove, white boottop, green bottom.
• Varnished teak exterior trim in excellent condition, using Captain's varnish by Z-spar.
• Hand laid up solid fiberglass hull and decks.
• Cloud gray original gelcoat on non-skid decks and cabin house, in excellent condition.
• Approximately 1994, bottom was epoxy-coated.
• Bottom paint is Petit Unepoxy.
• 2010 rebedded all ports and windows by Lyman Morse.
• 1997 replaced single lifelines.
• 2010 replaced S/S stern rail, teak taffrail and stern light by Lyman Morse.
• S/S bow pulpit and S/S stanchions, one starboard gate in lifelines.
• Varnished teak eye brow around entire trunk cabin.
• 2004 varnished teak locker fabricated on aft deck to house LPG tank.

COCKPIT:

• Tiller steering.
• 2010 new natural-finished teak cockpit lift-up seats over foam-cored fiberglass by Lyman Morse.
• Recent Stamoid off white low profile cockpit Dodger by Mobile Marine Canvas; looks new.
• Cockpit stowable table and 5" Danforth compass mount on edge of bridge deck.
• Spacious sail lockers which house batteries and other gear.
• Varnished cockpit coamings with winch handle pockets.
• Non-skid cockpit sole with two forward screened scuppers.
• Jackstands collapsed during severe winter storm. Boat fell on portside, damaging hull, taffrail, stern pulpit, battery box and some interior joinerwork. All repairs done by Lyman Morse to first class condition in 2010. (Many improvements were made during repairs to make her better than new). 

ENGINE & MECHANICAL:

• 1998 Westerbeke 35B3, 32 hp diesel, 3 cylinder, FWC.
• Approximately 2080 hours as seen on the hour meter.
• S/S shaft; bronze prop.
• Engine instrument panel.
• Spinlock single lever shift-throttle control.
• Racor fuel filter.
• Excellent engine access behind companionway ladder.
• Espar diesel heater, 1998.
• 1998 replaced most seacocks with bronze.
• Bilge blower.

TANKAGE:

Fuel: 35 gallons in Monel tank.

Water: 70 gallons in 2 S/S tanks (under vee berth and forward of fuel tank in salon bilge).

Holding tank: 1995 +/- 9 gallons with 12V macerator pump.

ELECTRICAL:

• 12V electrical system with circuit breaker panel.
• 2010 two Deka Group 27 AGM 12V batteries in replaced battery boxes.
• Battery switch, engine alternator and voltmeter.
• 1998 new 6 gallon hot water heater off engine.
• 2010 Whale Gusher 10 manual bilge pump.

ELECTRONICS:

• Datamarine depth and knotmeter-log.
• Apelco VXL 1500 VHF radio.
• Tillermaster autopilot.
• 2013 Raymarine C95 color radar plotter (High Definition), on swing-out bracket in companionway.
• Raytheon 390 GPS (back up).

ACCOMMODATIONS:

• Six berth layout in Herreshoff-style interior with painted "Oyster white" bulkheads and varnished mahogany cabinets, drawers and trim, painted white overhead and natural-finished, solid teak and holly sole (in excellent condition).

FORWARD CABIN:

• Vee berth with cushioned seat between. There is storage under the berths and shelves outboard. A hanging locker is aft to starboard, with an opening hatch overhead, and an access door to the chain locker.

HEAD:

• Next aft to port is the enclosed head with a S/S sink, hot and cold pressure water, 9 gallon holding tank with 12V macerator pump, and a 1998 Groco manual W.C.

MAIN SALON:

• MADRIGAL has the two pullout-transom berths with two pilot berths outboard. This layout offers the most storage with lockers and drawers under all berths. A bureau of drawers is forward to starboard, with a liquor cabinet above. On the port forward bulkhead is a mahogany dining table which folds down to accommodate two or six.

GALLEY:

• U-shaped aft galley with light green Formica countertops and teak fiddles.
• To port is a 2004 gimballed Force 10 three burner propane stove and oven, sliding doors to storage outboard, a S/S sink with hot and cold pressure water, and glass storage.
• To starboard of the companionway is a large S/S lined icebox, the top doubles as a large chart table.
• The circuit breaker panel and more storage lockers are located outboard of the chart table.

SAILS & RIGGING:

• 552 sq. ft. sail area - masthead yawl rig.
• Aluminum main mast with 1x19 S/S wire rigging, original, but in good condition.
• 2013 aluminum mizzen mast, replaced by Lyman Morse.
• 1993 Schaefer 2100 jib roller furler.
• 2010 mizzen cover; 2014 Sunbrella mainsail cover by Maine Sailing Partners.
• Dacron running rigging, mostly 1992, in good condition.
• Jiffy reefing on main; wood main and mizzen booms.
• 1992 Hood main.
• 1993 Hood 150% genoa and 2007 130% genoa by Maine Sailing Partners.
• 2012 mizzen by Maine Sailing Partners.
• 1966 Hood nylon spinnaker (red and white).
• 1966 Hood mizzen staysail.
• 1967 HRR Drifter.
• Spinnaker pole and gear (off boat presently).

WINCHES:

• Barient 23 S.T. sheet winches.
