Brewer 12 8 Center Cockpit Cutter

Built under license by the Fort Myers Yacht & Shipbuilding Co, "Celtic Sea" has been lovingly owned and cared for by its’ meticulous owner. Celtic Sea is a sturdy, seakindly Ted Brewer design with many custom modifications resulting in a safe, comfortable and practical vessel. Built for serious ocean cruising, the 12.8 is a center cockpit, cutter rigged, keel stepped mast sailboat with the famous "Brewer Bite" ¾ keel, centerboard, and skeg mounted rudder.

Hull and Deck:

The hull is well constructed with balsa coring. In 2003 a complete refinishing of the bottom was performed re-glassing all imperfections and ground fair. The entire hull was sanded to Gelcoat. Three coats of Interlux 1000/1001 were applied. Then three coats of 2000/2001 were applied. The entire underwater hull was then painted with three coats of Interlux CSC Micron Extra blue ablative bottom anti-fouling paint. All painting was done according with Interlux specifications and recommendations. The boat has been hauled every year, examined for blisters and lightly sanded and painted with Micron ablative paint each spring.
