Bristol 29.9 Keel/Centerboard - Rare centerboard model

Price reduction of $3,000 on 10/16/13!  New asking price of $26,900.   "Casper" is a rare keel/centerboard Bristol 29.9 sloop.   She draws only 3' 6" with the board raised, and 7'6" with the board down.  So you can anchor in shoal waters, or berth her at docks with thin water.   And when sailing to windward, you can drop the centerboard for enhanced upwind  performance.

The Bristol 29.9 is a roomy cruiser with excellent space.   She has over 6 feet of headroom, and sleeps 6 in two cabins.   Bristols are known for their New England quality.   The hulls are solid, hand-laid fiberglass with no coring.   The molded-in nonskid pattern in the decks makes for good footing.   The interior has a full-fiberglass cabin liner, and solid teak & holly sole.  The lead ballast is glassed inside the keel sump, so you have no keel bolts to worry about.

She has a new genoa from UK-Allan, a dodger, new holding tank, and new electronics.   She received a new bottom with a mechanical peel, and application of new gelcoat and barrier coat.  The centerboard pennant and anchor light were recently replaced.  The Bristols have solid fiberglass hulls with no coring to worry about.  The hulls and decks were hand-lay-up.  And the ballast is internal to the hull, and glassed in place--so no keel bolts to leak or corrode.  The hull-to-deck joints are thru-bolted, and chemically joined, and then glassed from the inside for a very strong bond.

"Casper" is a nice Bristol 29.9 centerboard which are rare to the market. The 3' 6" draft is perfect for cruising shallow aters such the Chesapeake, Keys, Bahamas, etc. The Bristol 29.9 is a Halsey Herreshoff design known for her nice motion, traditional lines, modern underbody and wonderful sailing characteristics. The cabin on the 29.9 surprises many buyers as it is open and spacious with the capability to sleep six. And her athwartships head and shower is quite large for a 30 footer. An 18 h.p Unverisal FWC diesel moves her smartly into headseas or adverse tides. And an optional factory teak and stainless rubrail protects her topsides. Plus "Casper" has been upgraded by her owners with a new Profurl roller furling system, new Harken lazyjacks, new fuel tank,  and new cutlass bearing and propeller shaft. This lovely Bristol 29.9 is ready for her next owners to being enjoying her from the outset.

The Bristol 29.9 has nice accommodations. And her varnished interior is in very nice  condition, and has been well maintained by her owners. Starting forward is a nicely-sized V-berth with filler. Headroom is generous for a 30 footer. Storage is abundant. Opening ports (4) are to port and stbd. and a nice overhead hatch provides light and ventilation. Moving aft is a large athwartships head with shower. A hanging locker is to stbd. and shelves are to port. Two opening ports are fitted.  The main salon is open and airy with an overhead mid cabin hatch, and four large fixed ports. The dining table is bulkhead mounted, and features a large dropleaf, so she seats four or five. To port is a settee which makes into a large double berth. To starboard is a nice settee. Storage is abundant behind and under the settees. A lovely teak and holly sole and new, tasteful custom interior cushions add to the yachty feel of the "Casper". Moving aft to stbd. is a nice L-shape galley with Orgio stove, big icebox and Hot and cold pressure water. Lots of storage shelves and drawers are found. And the cane-front cupboards are evidence of the Bristol quality. To port is a nice navigation table with lots of space for charts, electronics and tools.
