Hubert Johnson 20 Blackjack

Known for the 18’ and 24’ foot Models, this is the only known 20’ version of the popular “Blackjack” series built at the Hubert Johnson Boat Manufacturer shop in Bayhead, NJ through the early nineteen sixties.  

Professionally resorted by Newport Yacht Joinery between 2004 and 2009, every effort has been made to maintain originality.  The boat has been completely re-framed, new coamings had to be installed, and all the systems replaced.  This included a completely rebuilt motor and new fuel tank, wire and cables.  All other elements to the boat are, to our knowledge original with the exception of the plywood sub-deck beneath the original decking forward and a new cypress cockpit sole.

She can cruise at 20 to 25 MPH but she was designed for casual cruising, hence the reversible aft bench.

Designed and built on Barnegat Bay, “Hubert” is the perfect vessel for cruising the Intracoastal Waterway in style.

The Hubert Johnson Boat and Motor Company was originally founded and started in 1859 by Morton Johnson (1859-1930) (Morton Johnson Boat Company).  Morton was considered a premium boat builder and was highly respected up and down the Atlantic Coast.
