Ed Monk 35 Wooden Power Boat - Beautiful classic!



This vessel is a stock design from world famous designer, Ed Monk, Sr. She
was built by her original owner under the designer's supervision. Workmanship
and materials used meet professional builder's standards. She is a single
screw, modified v-bottom, hard chin, semi displacement, sedan-cabin
cruising power boat. Maintained under cover for all her life, she has all
original components maintained by her three owners for the past 50 years.



*HULL: *1957, Hiram Walker (home builder). LOA is 34' 6"; beam is 10' 6";
draft is 3 ft.; displacement is 13,000 lbs; Ballast is 200 lbs. lead pigs
for lateral trim; speed is approximately 9 knots.

Stock #46033 Current owner has owned it since 1994. Kept in cover storage. Bottom done Spring of 2013. Owner does it every other year. In last 5 years: 1. Hull painting--labor by owner, $200 for paint plus haul out cost of $700 (last done in 2013, done every 3-4 years). Bottom paint is done every other year ($500 plus haul out). Owner varnishes parts of brightwork every year; parts of hull have been refastened as needed through the years. Chine bolts have been totally replaced. Butt blocks have been totally replaced. Parts of deck on starboard have been replaced. Engine--electronic ignition replaced ($700); new carburetor ($600); rebuilt heat exchangers ($500); all work done by self-employed certified boat mechanic within last 5 years. Batteries--replaced one of three batteries ($200) 2. Engine needs some new lower end gaskets and seals (estimated $2000 by above mechanic). Heads were removed and rebuilt within past 10 years, and rest of engine showed no wear. 3. Interior looks okay but might need refinishing in the next few years. Upholstery on divan needs replacing (we have material just haven't done it yet). Windlass needs new brushes ($100--it is on my list to fix soon). Cabin lights need an electronic update ($200?).
