Dutch Motor Barge Zee Tjalk 23M - Available now

This Zee Tjalk Dutch Barge is an absolute classic! Built in 1898 as a commercial sea-going barge of iron and steel, Harmonie is in truly amazing condition. With 8mm steel plating and the traditional Zee Tjalk double framing in the lower hull, this beauty was built to last [See construction section]. Harmonie has also been substantially re-built between 2007 and 2014. No fancy stuff or chintz in this barge, but rather good nautical features and finishes, plenty of natural wood and sound external marine protection. The current owner has created a stunning and very spacious livaboard home in Harmonie and maintained that 'Dutch' atmosphere and appearance which she rightly deserves. This is a comfortable home with all mod cons. She's berthed at Hythe Quay, Colchester, which has its own rich history stretching back to the first Roman settlers. The barge is powered by a substantial Humbolt-Klocken Deutz 70hp engine which is in good order. This fabulous barge has benefitted from really deep pocket spends during the last seven years and is well set for many years to come. She's offered at a respectable ask of £173k
