Scheeps & Jachtbouw Steel Gaff Rigged Ketch - Character Character Character

'Pacifique'  is a Louis Van De Wiele designed boat, based on the famous 'Omoo', which was sailed round the world from 1949 - 1953 by famous Belgian yachtswoman Annie Van de Wiele.  This boat was built by one of the Scheeps and Jachtbouw Boatyards in Weidewiek, Netherlands and smacks of traditional boating at its best. With 5mm  cold galvanized, epoxy coated overlapping steel plates on the hull and 4mm epoxy coated steel decks, she is extremely strong and built particularly to voyage in temperate latitudes and has been as far north as Greenland. She can handle any weather conditions. The current owner had her built in 1980/1 and has been cruising her, either full time or part time, ever since.  However, it is time to move to shore and leave the sailing to someone younger, but with the passion.

The strong steel hull is as good as new, the interior is functional, the rigging is largely block and tackle/dead eye, the gaff-rigged ketch sail plan will have traditionalists 'oohing and ahing', the long bowsprit adds to the sail area and to the fabulous lines of this head-turning sailing vessel.

The owner is motivated to sell and will entertain reasonable offers from genuine buyers who are looking to live the dream.

The interior woodwork is light mahogony, rich and solid. Floors are Iroko. Mahogany beams overhead, with white headliner and prisms to let in light, make this a light, warm and inviting space.

Between the companionway and the salon is a bulkhead dividing the aft accommodation from the galley & salon.  With access through an opening/doorway (no door).  To port of the companionway is the chart table with a single quarterberth behind it. On the starboard side is a double berth which opens into the space.

Moving through the bulkhead to the salon, the galley runs down the port hull and the U-shaped dinette is to starboard, with an oil heater on the forward bulkhead.  This is a cozy space with storage for both galley and salon.

Walk forward throug the head and on the starboard side is the engine room which doubles as a large work room with a lot of space. The V-berth is huge and is currently used as a storage area for sails and other gear,
