Herreshoff Mobjack Staysail Schooner 45

1982 Herreshoff 45 Raven

EXQUISITE! - the very first word that will come to mind when you lay your eyes on Raven. She was built as a re-creation of a 1935 L. Francis Herreshoff Mobjack Ketch in 1982. In 1999, she was re-fit and re-commissioned with the help of Naval Architect Robert Perry into a staysail schooner (see article written in November 2007 Latitudes & Attitudes). This is an estate sale and is a wonderful opportunity to own this unique and very beautiful vessel.

Enter the main salon through the cockpit companionway. Immediately to port is the U-shaped galley with Princess 3-burner propane stove/oven, Sharp microwave oven, 3-cubic foot front opening refrigerator/freezer, front-loading ice box, top-loading freezer with extra insulation, double stainless steel sinks, hot/cold pressure water system and Village Marine watermaker. Across from the galley is a hanging locker and just forward is the well-equipped navigation station. Forward of the galley is the U-shaped dinette with an adjustable hardwood table. Across from the dinette to starboard is a 7'-long settee that opens up into a double-sized berth. Above the settee is the built-in entertainment center. Forward of the settee is a large storage/hanging locker.

The main cabin has excellent storage and shelving throughout. Forward of the main salon to starboard is the master stateroom with Pullman berth, drawers and storage below, and large hanging locker. To port is the large head with VacuFlush toilet and large walk-in shower.

Moving forward is a storage/utility room with large cabinets for provisions, equipment and gear. There is also a Splendide Combomatic washer/dryer. In the utility room is a well-ventilated, large cedar hanging locker that can be used as sail storage with access to the foredeck by overhead hatch. In the forepeak is a large double chain locker.

Forward of the cockpit is a separate entrance to the engine room via a ladder that doubles as a swim ladder. Included in the engine room beside the Perkins 63-hp engine are the genset, batteries, water heater and plenty of room to work.

Accommodations for six guests.
