Classic Fishing Boat

1950, traditional fishing boat, very open to offers, Larch on Oak, built by Frost and Drake Boatyard in Tollesbury, Ford 86hp diesel, 6 Fathom trawl, 2 berths, Garmin Fish Finder.

CONSTRUCTION                            

Built in approx 1950.  Wooden construction of carvel larch planking on oak frames, green topsides and red decks, 2 berth internal layout, wheelhouse, rigged for trawling.

ENGINE:                                           

Ford 86 hp inboard diesel engine, freshwater cooled with 50 gallon fuel tank.  Consumption per hour is around 2 gallons at a cruising speed of about 9 knots.  Bronze 25” x 25” four blade propeller with shaft drive charging to one 12 volt battery. 

FUEL:                                       

Fuel capacity  50 gallons

DECK GEAR:                             

Bronze wheel, Hyde 1.5 ton winch, 20lb plough main anchor with chain and warp, 6 fathom trawl plus other doors and winch wires. 

SAFETY GEAR:                          

Electric bilge pump.

NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT:       

Compass, Garmin fishfinder, VHF radio, FM/AM radio, Tiger Shark chart plotter, GPS, navigation lights, steaming light, and anchor light.

DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT:           

She has a gas cooker. 

ACCOMMODATION:                                   

2 berths.

REMARKS:                                “Moss Rose” was built in Tollesbury by Frost & Drake Boatyard.  She was purchased by the current owner approx 15 years ago and has been used for trawling.  She is in full working order, during current ownership she has had a recent engine, a recent 3:1 reduction gear box.  Her owner is now looking for a smaller boat.  Some remedial work is required including woodwork repairs and repainting.
