Classic "Maine" Yacht Hardtop Picnic Cruiser
TEMMA (Ex: Marina S. & Bianca) was purchased by her present owner in 2013 and has seen many notable improvements that should not be overlooked. TEMMA is a show winner having won four awards in New England and six more on the Chesepeake. She is a custom designed 42' power cruiser built in East Boothbay, Maine. TEMMA has been properly upgraded from gas to diesel to deliver the desired 7-9 knots cruise at a lazy 1600-1700 RPM. Please view "Full Specs" to learn more details and information.
- Work Done to Temma Winter of 2013 and 2014
- New wood addressing rot issues on coaming, deck, and hardtop.
- Galley and Saloon scraped, sanded, primed and painted with semi-gloss.
- Touch ups to Varnish in Interior from Galley to Salon
- Installed Battery charger
- Removed broken electric horn and replaced with high end pneumatic horn.
- Hydraulic Hoses on Steering replaced
- New Hydraulic Oil in steering system
- Removed bonding wires that had been attached to all through-hull fittings after noticing significant delignification of wood fibers around through hull fittings.
- Replaced oak backing plate on cockpit scuppers thru-hull.
- Dutchmanned and scarfed using 4200 as the glue a new piece of wood, where the wood had softened around the rudder flange.
- Replaced rudder flange through bolts.
- Painted in and out of repair with red lead.
- Rebuilt engine removal hatch on hardtop.
- Stripped, Sanded, Interlux Brown Mahogany Stained, applied 2 coats of wood sealer and then 10 coats of varnish to the exterior of the cockpit house, cockpit seating and all exterior varnish, and trim.
- Sanded smooth all decks and engine hatch paint and repainted with Interlux Interdeck cream, textured paint.
- Removed all bronze off rub rail, removed old varnish of rub rail, 2 primers and 3 topcoats Interlux white. Re-installed bronze rub rail and replaced broken skews.
- Longboarded topsides of hull for two weeks. Filled and primed with west system epoxy, primed with interprime, 2 coats of Interlux white gloss.
- Sanded, filled, primed and painted with peditt semi-gloss white exterior of cabin
- Varnished all cockpit furniture. 4 coats
- Varnished companionway steps. 1 coat
- Varnished transom 4 coats
- Replaced sticker on stern, and changed hailing port to: Newport RI, and replaced the Temma Name with new sticker.
- Sanded and applied 2 coats of interlux blue to bootstripe.
- Replaced corroded Anodes. On Rudder, and Screw,
- Replaced anodes in salt water cooling system of engine.
- Replaced cockpit cushions and built cockpit engine hatch cushion.
- Made new cushions. Theme: nautical, red, white, and blue
- Routine engine maintenance: oil for the winter, winterized, un-winterized, replaced all filter for fuel and oil, cleaned racor.

- Checked stern and rudder gland packing... plenty to go.
- Bought a director’s chair for cockpit.
- Rebuilt cockpit table to hold glasses, and flower vases.
- New Art

- New cutlery, and galley equipment
- Replaced all out of date fire extinguishers, 2 in cockpit, one in galley, and one in head. Extinguisher in cabin in date and fine.
- Sanded and painted entire deck with Interlux non-skid cream.
- Applied a further 3 coats to cockpit floor- high wear area.
- Sanded and painted with semi-gloss all the white in cockpit: seats, bulkhead, hardtop, coaming, trim
- Installed a stereo system with blue tooth, 4 speakers.
- Replaced macerator pump, from head to out.
- Replaced old and unsafe wooden dowel sticks that had protected the panes of glass on butterfly hatches with, marine grade stainless steel.
- Investigated why manual winch did not work. Broken and corroded, pawls, pawl springs. Repainted and still very strong and structural as a bollard.
- Painted anchor.
- Bought a new anchor rode for storm and spare Danforth anchor. 15ft of chain, 300ft of mega-braid line.
- Replaced all 8 life jackets with coast guard approved type 1, added lights on all.
- Added two children’s life jackets
- Bought a new deluxe flares and emergency signaling kit.
- Replaced and bought a new spare impeller on engine.
- Bought impeller puller. Makes the job a breeze.
- Topped up batteries.
- Replaced and rewired all bilge pumps. Replaced bilge pump hoses.
