Engines, batteries, fuel and water tanks are all "mid ship", allowing for a performance hull design to glide thru seas, and can turn in a tight fairway on its own center axis. The St Francis 44 boasts the easiest and most accessible deck mountings and fittings of almost any vessel. Chain plates can be removed, and stanchions and cleats can be re-bedded without emptying lockers or dismantling cabinetry.

The St Francis 44 is a "galley down" configuration with a large, light and spacious main salon, 4 private cabins, 2 heads and generous storage space throughout. The "Galley-down" design is open and allows the galley crew to interact with salon guests . In the main salon, the large L- shaped salon table seating is to starboard, while the nav station is to port, and a large storage cabinet under the triangular salon table. Incorporated under the chart table is a massive "Minus 40" freezer. Adjacent is the Emerson 19" HDTV with DVD player.
