Norstar 360 Flybridge

The Norstar 360 Flybridge - is a handsome, powerful yacht, designed by Gary Nordtvedt and built in Bellingham, Washington to the highest standards and exacting details.  She is a highly-regarded Northwest to Alaska flybridge cruiser and a boating platform with many unique features.  Shark features a modified-vee hull configuration with a fine entry and moderate deadrise for speed, sea-keeping and fuel efficiency.  A boater's boat she cruises comfortably and confidently at speeds from 8 to 25 knots, with a top speed approaching 30.  Her well-defined chines at the bow provide a dry and safe ride in all conditions and especially when the wind and seas kick up.  This yacht is easily capable of cruising Alaska waters and beyond.

The interior is superbly engineered, strongly constructed and exquisitely finished using the finest materials and best equipment.  Shark is configured and outfitted for all seasons cruising and fishing. Hull & Running Gear Shark has a modified-vee hull in keeping with the Nordtvedt-family tradition as a leader of quality yacht design. Following the footsteps established by his yacht designer father, Gary Nordtvedt employed the same basic formulas in designing this efficient, soft riding, stable and dry running hull. 

Hull laminated with vinlyester resin skin coat and epoxy barrier coat to protect against hull blisters.

The running gear features cast bronze V-struts specifically designed to support and protect propellers and shafts and rarely found except on large custom-built yachts.  Shark's shafts and 4-blade custom and individually documented propellers are machined using the highest grade materials to provide a smooth vibration-free ride.

Shark has the Norstar custom underwater exhaust system; baffled air inlet ducts; resilient equipment mounts and the abundant use of sound absorbing insulation; coupled with carefully crafted leak-free hatches to create an ambiance while cruising equal to a luxury automobile at highway speed.

Engineering features include fuel tank sight-gauges; Unique waste handling system; Access to wiring and plumbing in hard to reach places; Storage in every conceivable space;  Norstar's pre-engineered system for access to and removal or replacement of major machinery;  Shark includes the above and other features that are never considered by production boat builders.

Flying Bridge -   The flying bridge contains a fully featured auxiliary control station for navigation and communication; Machinery monitoring, steering and engine controls;  Controls and displays for autopilot, depth sounder, radar, trim tabs, bow thruster, windlass, compass and VHF radio / hailer; Highly polished and substantial welded stainless steel railings and ladder from the cockpit provides safe and secure access to and from the bridge. Highly effective windscreen forward of the helm directs the wind above and over the helm while cruising.

Individually adjustable helm chairs for the captain and mate; Pilot chairs swivel at anchor to create an intimate entertainment center complete with dining table and lounge seating for guests. Waterproof stereo speakers add to the ambiance for afternoon cocktails and snacks.

The flying bridge features a hinged polished stainless radar arch for Shark's array of antennae, lights, transceivers and loudhailer, including cockpit floodlights and a remote-control searchlight.

A full Sunbrella cover protects the bridge when not actively in use. The flying bridge contains large tip out bins and storage lockers for canvas, binoculars, cruising atlas and a variety of other essentials.
