Van De Wiele Ketch
The Van de Wiele ketch is a sister ship of the famous Belgian yacht "Williwaw" which is now in the Antwerp Maritime Museum. With this sister ship, famous Belgian adventurer Willy de Roos sailed 360,000 miles across the oceans. This should be proof enough that the design is very seaworthy. You may judge whether this is a yacht or a ship yourself. When constructing, the steel of "Nestor" was galvanized. This means that rust has no chance. The construction is extra heavy duty to make freezing in possible. The current owner has in recent years very solid maintenance carried out and replaced many new items (see specifications).
The interior is divided in two. The salon has a real nautical atmosphere through the use of dark teak and many brass fittings. The corn-yellow floor and blue cushions give the boat also inside a very authentic character. Upon entering to the left is the L-shaped kitchen, and on the right the navigation area. Amidships is a spacious seating area with sofas around. There is a Heatpol diesel heater, heavy enough to heat the entire boat.
The front cabin has room for 3 people with a double and single bed. Left for the bathroom with sink and toilet vacuum. The aft, accessible from the cockpit, is now used as storage space. This cabin could be transferred to a sleeping area too.
