Chris-Craft Triple Cockpit Runabout
This is a True American Beauty! Miss Arrowhead is perhaps the rarest & most unique Chris Craft in existence! In the nine years preceding Pearl Harbor, Chris Craft built just 62 of the 27’ Triple Cockpit Runabouts. Over those production years, the 27’ Custom got more expensive, more luxurious and what became known as the “barrel back” stern became more pronounced. Truly a one-of-a-kind and rare Chris-Craft runabout and the only remaining example of just two ever produced. The fastest and largest model in the highly-collectible Chris-Craft “Barrelback” series of runabouts – Rare Chris-Craft A-120-A Race Engine, a 375 HP, 845 CI; only three of these engines exist today – Advertised speed was 50 – 52 MPH – Top-of-the-line in 1940, and the most expensive at $6,290 – Many top awards – 15 hrs. since comprehensive and lengthy restoration in 2007 – All new planking (bottom, sides & deck) – Complete and extensive engine rebuild, with concealed modern carburation and ignition systems for ease of operation – New emerald green leather upholstery in the original color and style, using leather reproduced by the original supplier – Birdseye maple dash, blue on beige instruments – twin IvaLite spotlights and siren – After the War and through the 1950′s she was used as a “thrill ride” boat on Lake Arrowhead, CA Also included is a completely rebuilt custom tandem axle trailer.
