John Gale Alden (1884–1962) was an American naval architect and the founder of Alden Designs

Founded by John G. Alden in 1909.  His design office by 1932 was known worldwide in part due to his "Malabar" design's success on the offshore racing scene.

John Alden is probably best known for his fast and seaworthy offshore schooners but he designed a broad range of exceptional boats that today have become true classics that turn heads as do many of their contemporaries that bear his name
